Meet My Friends

I love brooches

they can be worn in so many ways. On your top as originally intended, on your hat, a scarf, on your handbag for a bit of original bling, hung on a chain or ribbon they can be worn as a necklace or bracelet. Slipped over a hair tie they make a great hair accessory. Let your imagination roam free and do something quirky.

Meet My Friends

This is Stack my Buttons.

I like the build up, the drama, the tension of this piece. To me it is a statement of being able to handle anything. It all hangs on two buttons, those two buttons are supported by all the others making them stronger as one than they would be alone. We are like that. We need others to help lift us up and support us, help us to be strong as we help them in turn to be strong.

Meet My Friends

Tangled Buttons, my newest friend, though just as dearly loved.

I have always loved that messy wire and bead style. I wanted one with buttons, so I taught myself to crochet with wire and I made it. I was in heaven, it was tricky but I made it. I learnt a new skill and got an awesome ‘just what I wanted’ necklace too. I love that each one is unique, the placement of buttons, the tension of stitch will never be the same again.

Meet My Friends

This is Twisted Zipper.

My best friend Mish was the inspiration for this piece. I love the way she wears bright colours and has her own stamp on fashion, neither following it or standing against it. Twisted Zipper reflects her finding her own path in life, accepting the twists and turns and following them through with a smile lighting her face.

Meet My Friends

This is my friend Hanging Buttons

It is not as wildy adventurous as Button Madness but more adventurous than a single pendant. It says
‘ I’m playing my cards close to my chest and I am ok with that. I know how to have fun, but I choose it carefully. I’m as out there as I want to be and I will not be influenced by anyone else.’
‘I like me.’

Meet My Friends

This delicate lady is Pretty Zippy.

I wanted to wear something seriously off beat and quirky but still be feminine and delicate too. This is the perfect blend. It is a statement of ladylike quirkiness. I love it. My little girl has several of these because she loves them too. Seems there is no age barrier to being pretty zippy.

Meet My Friends

May I introduce
Button Up Button Down.

I made this necklace for my best friend Mish, for no other reason than because I love her and wanted her to have something that reflected her quirky fun side. People stopped her to ask where she got it, pretty soon
 Something Quirky was born.
There’s a little quirky in all of us.

Button Madness

This is Button Madness, an explosion of colour, also delightful in a single colour. I wanted to express the random elements of life, neat order and spontaneous fun can co-exist side by side.
I believe every woman needs a necklace that shouts
‘I have depth and maturity, but most of all... I know how to have fun.’

Balance My Buttons

A treasured friend of mine.
I woke from a peaceful dream and knew I had to make it. I knew what it would look like and why. But no matter how I tried I could not get it to sit together, frustrated I explained my vision to my beloved husband Grant, together we talked it through, the end result was - he taught me to solder so I could make the frame. A new skill. A new design. A new balance.
‘Balance My Buttons’ reflects the balance in our lives. We juggle so many things it is easy to overload; we need a centre, a non moving part of us, to remind us of who we need to have some fun everyday to keep our buttons balanced.

From my heart to yours.
